The land is a regular polygon with excellent orientation, which allowed a simple and economic placement, indispensable request for the project; in fact, the cost was 40% below an average house of these dimensions.
The walls are made of white painted brick; the floor slab is made of conventional concrete and the ceiling of polished concrete. The floors are mainly colored concrete and in several places old concrete mosaics were reused for floors and walls combining them with Venetian mosaic.
The projects intention was to make the volumes seem lightweight; the exterior façade is a grand black body that seems to levitate and is crowned by a flat and slender roof; the interior façade embraces a large empty space due to its “L” shape.
The materials, coatings and structural solution, are a good path to diminish the costs of the construction, obtaining spaces that can benefit from the warm character of common materials like bare brick, colored concrete floors, concrete mosaic, etc. in a contemporary project.
